The Wine Company, which proudly offers Romance wines to the world, was founded in Canada in 1991 and opened US operations in 1996. We are one of Canada's leading bulk wine brokerages, sourcing wine from around the world for leading Canadian wineries. We also work closely with partner wineries in Argentina, Chile and South Africa to create unique wines for distribution in the United States and Canada.
how romance wines came to be
In the Spring of 2000 on a wine-sourcing trip to Argentina, we tasted samples of some wonderful, deep-colored red wines from a family-owned bodega ("winery"). These were big, pleasing wines with a long finish and dominant red and black fruit. The wines had not yet been fully-developed and so over many conversations and bottles of wine, we created a wine we love to drink ourselves. We brought together the passion of Argentina's beloved Tango and the beauty and romance symbolised by the Rose. What else to call this beauty but Romance?Romance

The Wine Company is owned and operated by Brian Kinsella. Brian has traveled extensively throughout the wine world and has been a respected wine consultant, broker and educator since 1991. After 20+ years in executive management with major international tire companies, Brian decided to devote himself to his true passion -- wine. Since 1991 he has focused on two major divisions in the wine business -- sourcing bulk wine internationally for sale to Canada's leading wineries; and more recently in the US, developing, importing, distributing and marketing new wines from emerging wineries in South America and South Africa.
